Rachel wiped her face, watching him leave with a smile on her face before turning around, looking around the room. Ava came over, putting her arm over her shoulder. “Looks great, right? My grandbabies are so spoiled!” Rachel laughed, nodding her head in agreement. Between her, Noah, and Ava, their babies were going to be spoiled. Ava left as Rachel turned on the light, loving how the room looked. Sitting down in the rocking chair they got, she smiled as Noah came in with their food. “It’s sort of surreal… doing all of this. Like, it finally hits you that they really are going to be here soon. We’re almost half way there. We’re getting their room all ready, I’m eating foods I normally can’t stand because they want it. I mean… it’s now where I get so excited and nervous at the same time.” She took her container from him, taking a bite out of her food. “We’re going to be a mom and a dad now. I know that there are a lot of things I won’t know until we are in that situation, but I still want to read every book I can get my hands on so that I can be the best mom I can be. I want our daughters to grow up with an amazing life and know how hard we worked to make sure they have the best life possible.” She smiled softly, before leaning over and kissing him. “Thank you, for giving them to me.”

It was incredible that all of this was happening, seriously. Sometimes he just has to stop and make sure this was really going on, and it takes him a few minutes before it fully sinks in and then he’ll continue what he’s doing. He doesn’t think it’ll ever set in, ever. Which might be weird, but even ten years from now it’ll still be surreal. But he would never change it for anything. And he thinks it will never sink in because this stuff only happens in fairy tales and dreams. He’s just thankful he’s living his wildest dream right now. He made him and Rachel’s plates, leaving the leftovers on the counter for his mom and sister if they wanted any before heading back upstairs. He smiled at his mom as she walked past him, rolling his eyes as she kissed his forehead. But it was shit like that that made this all more real, his mom was proud of him. Seriously proud of him. And it was little moments like that that truly showed him she was. He walked into the room, closing the door behind him and walking over to where Rachel was sitting in the rocking chair, taking a seat in front of her. He took a bite of his food as she talked, glad to know that they were feeling practically the same thing. “First of all, you’re gonna be a kick ass mom. No questions. You don’t need to read a bunch of books to help you with that, trust me. You’re gonna be awesome.” He gave her a smile before taking a bite, chewing and swallowing, “Second, I don’t think it’ll really hit me until they’re born and we bring them home and everything. I still have to stop every once in a while and ask if this is all really happening. And third, thank you too. You’re giving me a second chance, and you have no idea how much that means to me.”
